The Taste of Others

Too rarely does one come across this kind of not yet fully exploited talent. Kim Kyung-mook is a young Korean film-maker with six films to his credit. He mixes documentary, animation, performance and auteur cinema genres with incredible skill and no complexes, thanks to his age and record to date. His oeuvre is simultaneously introspective and autobiographic, exhibitionist and taboo-breaking, never gratuitous, and oh so poetic. Placed in a psychiatric hospital because of his homosexuality when he was a teenager, cinema allowed him to express himself and to exorcise his demons. We strongly encourage our audiences to watch these films in the chronological order in which they were produced.

A transsexual in transition meets a talkative dog before entering a fitting room, from which he/she emerges as a woman. Kim Kyung-mook revisits the war of the sexes from a transsexual perspective.
