One of Russ Meyer’s film opens on a sequence in a strip-tease joint where a bunch of hillbillies are yelling GO! GO! at the dancers. A candid character in a play is called “Gogo” by the playwright. Gogo is a place in sub-Saharan Africa, the name of a tribe, a slogan for restaurants that defy their clients to serve themselves à go-go.
