International Independent Film Festival
Geneva
16 – 25.01.2026

The days are getting shorter, but the list of films to watch is getting longer! The Black Movie International Independent Film Festival is hard at work preparing its 27th edition, which will take place from 16 to 25 January 2026! For film enthusiasts who enjoy something a little different, the festival continues to explore independent productions from all corners of the globe. The programme, which will be unveiled on 7 January, promises to be rich with around a hundred films, intense, and permeated by the same issues that are increasingly shaking the planet today.

For the visual design of the 2026 edition, the graphic design studio Neo Neo, ever faithful to its mission, has come up with a special concept directly linked to production, using a narrative and sustainable approach. Their idea? To collect printer’s waste from various posters for cultural institutions produced by the Duo d’Art screen printing workshop. For a screen printer, these proofs consist of a series of tests that enable colour adjustments to be made before the final poster is printed. Neo Neo asked the Duo d'Art workshop if it could use a large number of these proofs instead of sending them straight to recycling. These posters were then covered with a black background, leaving an unprinted area in the centre, reminiscent of a cinema screen. Through this screen, a different “scene” appears on every poster.

An original and delightful concept, which will be visible on the streets of Geneva in early 2026. In the meantime, Black Movie is working hard to bring you the best possible selection of independent films, including Two Prosecutors by Ukrainian director Sergueï Loznitsa, Barrio triste by American-Colombian director Stillz, and Happyend by American director Neo Sora.

All this and much more, exclusively in cinemas from 16 to 25 January 2026!
