A window onto the world

At dusk, as the sky still hesitates between shadow and light, a face appears, with a serene smile and curious gaze. It embodies Black Movie for Kids, a window onto the world.

This year, 40 films and just as many unique stories invite us to explore the Earth in a different way. Works from 34 countries celebrate diversity of perspectives and encourage reflection on essential topics such as ecology and difference. Like Planètes, a true ode to biodiversity, this programme takes us on a sensitive journey through the many forms of life to reveal their beauty.
Two workshops will extend the magic of the screenings: the first will combine mask-making and an introduction to stop-motion animation, while the second will take us back to the origins of cinema thanks to a wonderful collection of optical toys.
And how could we not mention one of the festival's must-see events: Jean-Chat voit dans le noir, a show where narration, music, and drawings come together live to offer us a moment suspended between dream and reality.

The Black Movie for Kids is an invitation to marvel, to think, to dream together, the promise of precious moments of sharing. Welcome to this 2026 edition; may it brighten eyes and warm hearts!
