Barrio triste

Medellin, 1980s. Residents spot strange lights in the sky, and when a journalist arrives to investigate, his camera is stolen by teenagers. Taking ownership of this new tool of expression, recording their frenetic movements around the barrio in a raw and anarchic manner, these young people propel us into a hallucinatory nocturnal whirlwind. In this darkness, both mental and physical, the strange lights appearing in the sky send signals and brief glimmers of hope.

Filmmaker Stillz, known for his music videos for Rosalia and Bad Bunny, makes a remarkable debut with this found footage-style film produced by Harmony Korine, accompanied by Arca's electrifying soundtrack.
