Kin-dza-dza!

Due to a careless mishap, Uncle Vova and the Violinist find themselves transported to the desert planet Plouke in the Kin-dza-dza galaxy! Populated by telepathic humanoids, it presents a curious paradox: while its technology is more advanced than Earth's, its social system is barbaric and completely backward. With only about fifteen words at their disposal, and no capacity for reflection, the inhabitants of Plouke offer a comical and dark vision of a future where only domination and humiliation remain.

Made just before the fall of the Berlin Wall, halfway between Mad Max, Tarkovsky and Monty Python, this weird cinematic oddity takes aim at both totalitarianism and capitalism.
