Since his debut in 1992 with the film Quartier Mozart, Cameroonian Jean-Pierre Bekolo has been known for his satirical productions with an original tone, at the crossroads of genres. In Les Saignantes, he denounces the corruption of the political system and unleashes against it the spiritual forces of Mevungu, a ritual with purifying virtues, specific to women of the Beti ethnic group, which ensures them entry into the ranks of a secret society. A caustic film that plays the card of humour and horror.
