Loin de moi la colère

During the civil war of 2011, the village of Ziglo in Côte d'Ivoire was the scene of numerous abuses. After waiting too long for state justice that never came, Maman Jo – an indigenous woman who lost several members of her family – decides to take control of her village's destiny, while victims and perpetrators continue to live side by side. Together with the residents, she is building an agora: a space dedicated to women, where they can speak and be heard. This place is about crimes that leave their mark on flesh and memory, and about long-term survival.

The stories converge on this protected public space where restorative justice is being developed. No looking back at history, no political trials; what matters is being there, physically, and trying to break down barriers in order to heal.
