Singing Wings

In the isolated village where Khadijeh lives with her family, daily life is punctuated by the arrival and departure of the storks. When she finds one with a wounded wing, she struggles to nurse it back to health before the flock continues on its journey in spring. Meanwhile, her youngest daughter is preparing to leave the village to follow her husband to the United Kingdom...

In the same vein, filmmaker Hemen Khaledi explores the parallels between human and animal migration and shows how modernity is slowly but surely changing the pace of traditional village life. The sensitive portrait of Khadijeh, a colourful character bursting with energy, refers to something greater: staying or leaving, letting go or holding on.
