Songs of Forgotten Trees

Thooya, a migrant who aspires to be an actress, lives in Mumbai and does not hesitate to sacrifice her privacy to seize opportunities. Outgoing and proud of her career, she also sublets a room to Swetha, another immigrant. The two women begin to share the space as well as confidences. Amidst the frenetic and harsh pace of Mumbai, they discover a discreet friendship.

An urban and feminist tale, Songs of Forgotten Trees brilliantly captures the issues facing the two migrants and, beyond the financial difficulties associated with their status, paints a magnificent portrait of women taking control of their destiny.
