Tales of the Wounded Land

As war ravages southern Lebanon, a family is forced to abandon their home while bombs reduce the neighbourhood to ruins. Upon their return, the refugees – including director Abbas Fahdel, his wife and their daughter – discover the extent of the destruction, both to infrastructure and to human beings.
An intimate chronicle of a conflict that devastated the region for a year and a half, the film captures the daily lives of those caught up in the turmoil.

Through the stories of families, friends and neighbours, he bears witness to the losses, displacements and fragile attempts to rebuild and preserve dignity after the disaster.
