In late 1980s Mexico, three generations of strong-willed women live together and fight to save their home from foreclosure. Roberta, an 8-year-old girl, grows up confidently in this unusual community: a fatherless home, where she observes with growing curiosity all these female personalities, like so many images of a possible future.
 
The young protagonist oscillates between reality and her vivid imagination, exploring her home and its surroundings in an effort to find a way to save her family from eviction, but above all to seek answers to the existential questions associated with her age. Most often, it is the way others view her unique life that makes her question herself...
