L’Homme-Vertige

Pointe-à-Pitre, a city in Guadeloupe, has become inert, ghostly. Characters pass through it at night, abandoned in an urban labyrinth marked by revolt and repression.
Over a five-year period, the director met people in different parts of the city. These encounters paint a picture of the history of Guadeloupe and the inertia of the island, a former French colony that became a French overseas department. These bodies, running in circles, trapped in this labyrinthine city, hang on the edge of the abyss, holding on to a collective memory they don't know what to do with.

A delicate, incarnate portrait of a slow disappearance, a loss of anchorage, a vertigo.
