Carte blanche à Gross Encounters

A Carte Blanche is given to Gross Encounters, a film club that engages with the politics of monstrosity by honouring subaltern horror, trash and exploitation films, their makers, scholars, and fandoms. Join us as we celebrate Indonesian horror and exploitation cinema with a double feature screening of the documentary Suzzanna: The Queen of Black Magic (2024) followed by the infamous Sundelbolong (1981)! Indonesian film scholar and actress Fala Pratika will host a special Q&A and give a talk in between screenings.
