Ray, struggling with gambling and alcohol problems, works nights as a security guard in department stores, while his son Dio is part of a theatre company and makes popcorn in an empty cinema because of Covid. Between the father and son, who live together, communication is almost non-existent. Everyone faces their lives by trying to stay the course and put a little affection into it: Dio falls in love with a young woman while Ray strives to see Dio’s mother again, who lives with a man and is about to leave Taiwan for China…

A melancholic and endearing portrait of a father-son duo struggling to put their feelings into words, inspired by the director’s own story.
