Tomorrow Is a Long Time

Meng, aged 17, lives with his father, who is very hard on him, works hard and whose body is exhausted from a lifetime of toil. At the same time, Meng is harassed by his school mates and pushed to become a bully himself. When his father dies, he naturally joins the army, another place of masculine combat, made up of initiation rituals which add to the stages of mastering his own violence. But as the soldiers plunge deeper into the lush, threatening jungle, Meng reconnects with something he lost long ago.
