La libertad de Fierro

César Fierro spent most of his life in the Polunsky Unit, a prison that keeps human beings in total isolation for decades, deprived of any physical contact with other people. He has become a free man after 40 years on death row in Texas, and must now rebuild his life and relearn the meaning of freedom...Santiago Esteinou and César Fierro met during the filming of Los años de Fierro, a documentary that recounted César's trajectory and his arbitrary isolation. They corresponded for nearly 15 years. Caesar was miraculously released in 2020, in the midst of a pandemic. With nowhere else to go, Santiago put him up with his family for a few weeks, before he travelled to his home town of Ciudad Juárez in northern Mexico, where the journey of healing and rebuilding began in earnest.Everyday gestures, integrating technological advances, meeting new people - everything becomes an obstacle to be overcome...
