To Be Followed…

A signature section of the festival, this programme invites you to see the seven latest singular works by filmmakers we've been following, in some cases, for over two decades. What their films have in common is a radical, free, uncompromising style - something we cherish above all else!

This year, the festival's stalwarts Hong Sangsoo (South Korea) and Wang Bing (China) return with major, majestic works; Ala Eddine Slim (Tunisia) takes us into the strange conversations of a blue dog and a black raven; Jia Zhang-Ke delivers a film that traces 20 years of upheaval in China; Athiná Rachél Tsangári (Greece) offers a timeless tale set in an imaginary world; finally, Santiago Esteinou (Mexico) opens a window on the concept of freedom, a notion flouted in countries where the death penalty is making a comeback.

Two round tables accompany the films: Surviving Prison, in the presence of Santiago Esteinou and César Fierro, as well as The Future of Fashion, inspired by Wang Bing’s films. You will furthermore be able to meet Wang Bing during a unique Conversation !
